As we approach our last game and subsequent wind-up party it’s time to reflect on how our season began so successfully this year with our Ladies Classic Golf Tournament. After hard work and perseverance our little ladies league out of the Falcon Lake Golf Course here in Manitoba managed to raise $18,440.00 towards Colon Cancer Research. All would agree that it could not have been achieved without our dear member Jackie McIvor who bravely stepped forward to tell her personal story regarding cancer, as well, managed to raise $7,700.00 of our total with her family!
As our season comes to a close Jackie continues her fight with cancer. A week ago, her son-in-law Dom published a heartfelt story on social media detailing Jackie’s recent struggle—a message to everyone on just how vulnerable life is. With Jackie’s blessing, here is a link to the story.
