2017 Falcon Ladies League Wrap Party

2017 Season Over…

It was a beautiful day on our league’s last official game at the Falcon Lake Golf course on August 29th. Bitter sweet for those who are nostalgic as the next time we get together the old club house will be gone. 😦

Our wind up, as usual was great! Once again our social committee of Hildy Dyck and Brenda Birch prepared a fantastic spread, which was hosted at Hildy Dyck’s cabin at West Hawk Lake.

2017 Sports Captain Tracy Evans

After lunch (and a few glasses of wine) our Sports Captain Tracy Evans announced the winners of the various mini tournaments we held over the season. Brenda Birch – 11 one putts? Wow!

Tracy also crowned our 2017 Club Champion Brenda Cleverly with a net score of 81. Way to go Brenda!

Last but not least who could forget the coveted Birdie Prize? Congratulations once again to Hildy Dyck who has the distinguished honour of hanging this beautiful piece of art in her cabin for an entire year due to having the most birdies in the season! An envy to all of us I’m sure.

On to business…our annual meeting began with the news that our president Brenda Cleverly announcing that she was stepping down from her role. Good news was that Susan Stanley stepped up to the plate up as our new club president! Congratulations President Susan. We’re expecting big things! Also after several years, our social committee has decided to pass the reins over to Darlene Patterson & Margaret Pilchar who will be organizing our season opener and season closer. Big shoes to fill girls!

In closing…

While some of our members leave the Falcon Lake area for the season and some of our other members who live here full-time are beginning to plan their get aways and winter activities I’m sure we all agree that everyone is looking forward to re-uniting next season. Wouldn’t be wonderful if we could increase our membership? Tell your friends how much fun our league is hopefully they’ll join in.

Over the winter we hope to update our website with information regarding the Falcon Lake Club House and updated 2018 golf dates. In that regard, if any of our permanent residents have a chance to take some pictures of the ongoing construction, email them to falconladiesleague@gmail.com and we’ll share them with our members here.
